The Europa Cinemas Label, awarded for the first time in 2003 at the Cannes Film Festival, aims to increase circulation, promotion and length of scheduling of European films at film theatres.

It is awarded in the framework of four major European events:

- Cannes Film Festival (Director´s Fortnight)
- Venice Film Festival (Venice Days)
- Berlin International Film Festival (Panorama)
- Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (Main Competition and East of the West section)
