EFA - FILM FANS VOTE FOR THEIR FAVOURITE EUROPEAN FILM

The nominations for the People's Choice Award 2008

The European Film Academy's People's Choice Award allows film fans across the continent to elect their favourite European film. As part of the European Film Awards, the People's Choice Award sheds a special spotlight on the people films are made for - the audience.

Winners of the past include Pedro Almodóvar's VOLVER, Roberto Benigni's LA VITA E BELLA, Jean-Pierre Jeunet's AMÉLIE, Peter Cattaneo's THE FULL MONTY, and Fatih Akin’s HEAD-ON.

The public vote for the People's Choice Award starts on 1 September and closes on 31 October.

The European Film Academy and EFA Productions present the People's Choice Award in co-operation with a network of media partners across Europe. From 1 September on, film fans can vote through the official voting website at

www.peopleschoiceaward.org

Ernst & Young, one of the leading global professional services firms, continues to act as Official Tabulator, endorsing the voting procedures and confirming the winner. The winner will be announced during the 21st European Film Awards Ceremony on 6 December 2008 in Copenhagen.
