European Film Weeks in Morocco

For the eleventh year Europa Cinemas will provide the artistic direction for the European Film Weeks festival taking place in Morocco (from 28 January to 12 February).

La Pivellina, best European film at Angers film festival

Discovered at the Directors’ Fortnight by the Europa Cinemas Label, La Pivellina was awarded the Grand Prix at the Angers Premier Plans film festival, along with the Bulgarian film, Eastern Plays. La Pivellina is the first drama film by co-directors Tizza Covi and Rainer Frimmel and will be released in France on 17 February (by Zootrope). Patrizia Gerardi won the Best Actress Prize for her role in the film.

14th Europa Cinemas Network Conference in Warsaw: European exhibitors and distributors come together over digital cinema

Inaugurated by Andrzej Wajda, Krzysztof Zanussi and Borys Lankosz, the 14th Europa Cinemas Conference was held in Warsaw from 19 to 22 November 2009. These three days of debates welcomed more than 550 professionals from approximately 40 countries.
